Time-dependent resolution during prolonged electron illumination. Radial profiles of FFTs from a series of images recorded back-to-back, after unblanking the electron beam at time 0 s, with 0.2 s acquisition times in 5 mbar N2. The image series were acquired from the same area on the gold-on-carbon sample with a near-continuous illumination at three different total dose-rates in the chronological order, a (6.3 × 109 e/s), b (1.6 × 109 e/s) and c (15 × 109 e/s). An areal dose-rate of 5600 e/(Å2s) was used for all three series. The dashed lines outline the smallest lattice spacing in the images
